A delightful study of human progress, the work of a scholar, versed in literature and history, and a reasonable optimist. In this volume he has combined an interpretation of the Idylls of the King with a review of recent events in history. He says that a part of his purpose is to offer a few simple reflections on Christian ethics and vital religion, based on the story of the quest of the Holy Grail. " He looks upon Tennyson's utterances as "both poetic and prophetic. Under The Round Table' he discusses the recent international Conferences. Other chapter titles are'The Reign of Humanity','The Age of Faith and Reason','The Sovereignty of Womanhood','Christian Symbolism','The Quest of the Ideal'. Excalibur: or the Elusiveness and Insistence of Truth' and'The Christian Evangel for Modern Man'. It is an inspiring book, full of information, and hopeful in its outlook.
