The Day Of The Jackal Frederick Forsyth (Signed, 1st Edition, HBDJ) 1971

First Print, Third Impression, July 71. Around five years ago I wrote to Mr Forsyth (through his Agent) inquiring about the inscription in this book. I presumed that Kit and Ray were personal friends and that he had glued in (as he nearly always did) the card declaring the very unusual story about his initial idea for Day of the Jackal.

I wanted to know if perhaps, the airing cupboard he was hiding in, was in a War Zone and was he under fire in maybe the Biafran Conflict? Of course that is only a wild guess - could have been far more pedestrian; though I wouldn't ever think prosaic if Mr Forsyth was involved. The book is in fair condition. But as a historical glimpse into his life it holds a valuable insight. Unfortunately I received no reply from his Office.
