Signed Script Shawshank Redemption Signed by Tim Robbins & Morgan Freeman

Rare Signed first draft copy of the "Screenplay" for "The Shawshank Redemption" film based on the 1982 Novella by Stephen King. This is a very limited edition item and an absolute gem for collectors or fans of Stephen King. (Note that the screenplay comes with a protective leather "string tie" holder for ongoing safekeeping).

This is a 1st draft of the screenplay for the 1994 film "The Shawshank Redemption", and contains autographs from the 2 lead cast members. The screenplay unfortunately does not contain the autograph of Stephen King, the author of the Novella called "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption", which was published in 1982, upon which this film is based. The wording "FIRST DRAFT" is printed on the bottom right corner of the script's front page, showing that this copy is the original screenplay written to addapt the Stephen King story from a Novella into a Film. Autographs included on the front page of the screenplay include the following names. Tim Robbins - Portrayal of Andy Dufresne (Autograph in Blue Ink and can be seen in the middle of the script's front page). Morgan Freeman - Portrayal of Ellis "Red" Redington (Autograph in Black Ink and can be seen in the top left corner of the script's front page).

The screenplay is in very good quality with no tears or writing on any of the pages. CRITICAL ASSESSMENT OF THE SCREENPLAY AND FILM.

The film has been the number one film on IMDb's user-generated Top 250 since 2008, when it surpassed The Godfather, having remained at or near the top since the late 1990s. In the United Kingdom, readers of Empire voted the film as the best of the 1990s, the greatest film of all time in 2006. In 2015, the film was selected by the United States Library of Congress to be preserved in the National Film Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". The film was directed by Frank Darabont, who also later went on to adapt and direct two additional Stephen King stories, "The Green Mile" (1999) and "The Mist" (2007).

In a 2016 interview, Stephen King said that "The Shawshank Redemption" was his favourite adaptation of his work, alongside "Stand by Me".
