Profusely illustrated throughout with around 272 black & white and 4 colour, glossy photographs. With two open out documents at the rear. Batsford Ltd London, New York &c The half leather book measures approx, 24.3cm by 29.5cm and contains approx 320 gilt topped, deckle pages. The book is complete and fully collated.
The pages are generally clean although there is an occasional spot or mark. The page bearing Symonds signature also contains details from two previous owners, a dedication from one to the other.
The glossy photographs are bound opposite each other and typically there are one or two places where they had lightly adhered to each other (now separated), this is not obtrusive although there is one part damaged page (See photos). The red, half leather bindings are solid and firm. There are a couple of spots of erosion to the leather, else very good indeed.The original slipcase still survives and will be sent with the book although it is rather worse for wear and is not part of the sale.
