This wonderful "Rigoletto" Bronze Bas Relief that comes beautifully mounted on a Deluxe Erte at 95 Extended Book. The book is hand signed by Erte, numbered and bound in black Saderre Cropon leather and stamped in gold. The Bas Relief is mounted with Velcro, and prepared with a wire for wall display if desired.
"Rigoletto" was inspired by a costume design for the opera singer Ganna Walska as Gilda in a 1920 production of Rigoletto. Petersburg, Russia, Erte derived his pen name from the French pronunciation of his initials R.
Over a long and distinguished career, he had a major influence on the style and design of the 20th Century. The designs created by Erte during his life influenced not only the world of theater, film and fashion, but an entire art movement as well. The genius of the artist is evidenced by an enormous body of work that is considered among the most influential and unique of the 20th century.
