SIGNED & INSCRIBED FIRST EDITION PB. Nigger at Eton is a hugely significant memoir written by Dillibe Onyeama - the second African to attend Eton College in the UK. The book tells of the racism that he experienced during his four years at the prestigious college and how it shaped his life.
When it was published in 1972 by Leslie Frewin Limited when the author was 21yrs old, the book caused a great deal of controversy because it indicted Eton as a racist institution. The book's publication led to Onyeama being banned from ever visiting Eton. Years later, he was to receive a formal apology from the college.
Due to its use of the N-Word, the name of the book was eventually changed to Black Boy at Eton. This rare copy of the original first edition paperback published in 1977 is in very good condition and is signed in the year of publication by the author to Harry Spilstead.
