John Le Carre SIGNED the 1st 5 novels hand signed on author's school bookplate
A fabulously rare, probably unique, signed copy of John Le Carre Omnibus containing his first five novels: The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, Call for the Dead, A Murder of Quality, The Looking-Glass War and A Small Town in Germany. The signature comes on a bookplate from St. Andrew's School in Pangbourne - the preparatory school le Carre attended in the early 1940s before going on to Sherborne public i. Presumably this copy was donated to the school by le Carre and signed by him at the presentation. The books are complete and unabridged and were published together by Heinemann/Octopus in 1979.

1st edition (thus), 1st printing. The book and jacket are like new and have no discernible flaws. Burgundy leather like boards with gilt embossed lettering. A great way to have the first five novels under le Carre's hand signed signature with an interesting provenance uniquely personal to the author.
