Jack Vettriano Lovers & Other Strangers signed limited edition book Genesis #91

A rare and very fine copy of the. Edition of Lovers and Other Strangers, a book that features paintings by Jack Vettriano and text by Anthony Quinn, with a Foreword by Sir Tim Rice.

It was published by Genesis Publications in 2000 and limited to just 250 copies, each copy numbered and signed by the artist, Jack Vettriano. This is copy number 91 of 250. It is hand-bound in half leather with silk front and back boards and gilt page edges, and housed in a custom-made slipcase of red buckram that is silk-screened in two colours with a unique cover design. A collector's item for fans of the late artist's work.

The book itself is in as-new condition. The slipcase has a couple of small marks of wear and tear (see last photo). According to the publisher Genesis at the time: Jack Vettriano's paintings have caught the imagination of the public like no other Scottish contemporary artist. To mark the event, he has agreed to allow Genesis Publications to issue a limited edition of just 250 signed copies, hand-bound in half leather. The original trade edition was published in hardback by Pavilion with a different cover. The slipcase, fine binding, gilt page edges, numbering and the artist's signature only appear on the 250 limited edition copies published by Genesis. Weight 1.57kg not including packaging.
