Author signed in blue ink by George Fuermann. First edition 1957 hardback book with illustrated City of Dallas boards, "Reluctant Empire". This book documents the fine state of Texas's wealthy, politics, mentality, culture, strengths and weaknesses of the period. The book is also nicely illustrated throughout by E. The author was a daily columnist for the Houston Post. Prior to this book, he wrote Houston, Land of the Big Rich. Author: George Fuermann Illustrated by: E. Schiwetz 281 pages First Edition Hardback Book with original dust jacket and clear plastic sleeve Measures 5 7/8 x 8 1/2 x 1 1/8 inches In very acceptable condition, expected yellowing from age, has some light spots on the tan cloth cover, which has green lettering on the spine. There is some writing in blue ink on Front upper left dust jacket, also inside cover on right side. Dust jacket has issues on corners and upper spine.

Item is from an estate, pre-owned condition with normal standard wear from age and usage, not new nor perfect, but definitely nostalgic. These cards/photos/collectibles, are from a Family Estate held in storage for past 26 yrs. Please refer to the Photos.
