SIGNED titles by the Late, Great Carl Sagan are Scarce and Becoming Exceedingly Hard to Find! Hardcover with its original dust jacket. Published by Random House, 1980. A large, "coffee table" size book. Boldly SIGNED and INSCRIBED by the Legendary Author/Astronomer/Scientist/Icon!

Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to ascertain the identity of the individual to whom the book is inscribed to. Furthermore, we are having a difficult time deciphering the name of the individual. While we can make out a few specific letters, the name itself remains a mystery to us. An American Book Club Edition, (BCE).

Please remember this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing! There are a few important indicators which establish that this is a BCE, principal among them is that NO price is listed on the dust jacket. There is, however, a number line ending with "3" which some have concluded denotes a third printing of the first edition. A TRUE first will have a number line ending in "2" and "First Edition" will will be clearly stated. Regardless of whether this is a Third Printing, which we believe it is not, this copy is most assuredly a BCE which essentially means an early reprint.

Most importantly, however, please remember this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title! This rare treasure has some VERY clearly visible age/wear, but is still in lovely, Highly Collectible condition! The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no internal foxing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris. The binding is holding tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf/age wear along with creases/marks/wear to the spine/corners/cloth boards, a previous owner stamp on the top edge pages, marks/creases/wear to the pages and marks/wear to the edge/fore pages, NOT affecting the text!

Please note the previous owner stamp which is located on the top edge pages! The stamp/area was closely photographed for your consideration. Please also note the marks/creases/wear that is present on the pages! Varying in size and severity.

While not terribly egregious, all of the wear is still very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. The original dust jacket is fully intact but has some very clearly visible wear! Some general/shelf/age wear along with creases, chipping, marks and rips resulting in some loss of paper. There are also some large marks/stains on the inside of the dust jacket!

Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! The wear, particularly the rips, is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered.

As a courtesy, the dust jacket has been encased in a brand new, removable, museum quality dust jacket protector! We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this incredibly RARE book.
