AN OPEN BOOK SIGNED & INSCRIBED by JOHN HUSTON to Film Colleague, 1st Edition

Signed and inscribed by John Huston to the credited film script supervisor on John Huston's last film. The Dead which was released posthumously. Inscribed: To Karen, who is simply the best, John Huston,'The Dead', 12 Feb'87. Creating'The Dead', adapted from the James Joyce short story, was John Huston's last labor of love. He directed the film from a wheelchair and using an oxygen tank, Huston managed to create his last masterwork which upon its release, after his passing, was universally acclaimed by critics. This copy signed on the set as indicated in the inscription is obviously one of the last copies of Huston's autobiography he inscribed. Signed on February 12th, Huston died only months later on August 28, 1987. Near fine in a lightly used dust jacket with a one inch tear to the bottom edge of the front panel and a 1/4 inch tear at the spine fold. The script supervisor includes such notable films as Casino, Pearl Harbor, The Rock, Texasville, Rising Sun, K-Pax, I Heart Huckabees, Transformers, Pirates of the Carribbean: At World's End, Silver Linings Playback, etc. She has worked with such significant directors as John Huston, Martin Scorsese, Michael Bay, David O. Russell, Peter Bogdanovich, Kevin Costner, William Friedkin, Wolfgang Petersen, Robert Benton, Sam Raimi, etc. Further association details upon request.
