Ai Weiwei Humanity Umanità book Signed Numbered edition of 200

Ai Weiwei's Book Humanity. This limited edition of Ai Weiwei's book Humanity was created by the publishing house Damocle Editions of Venice in 200 numbered and hand-bound specimens with the same thermal blankets that are given to migrants rescued at sea.

Each book was signed by Ai Weiwei. Humanity illustrates Ai Weiwei's thoughts on a journey through twenty-three countries, comparing and documenting the realities of the current global refugee crisis. These quotes, chosen from the most varied sources, including interviews, magazine articles and podcasts, reflect the diversity that animates Ai Weiwei's voice and the hope that art, combined with political dialogue, will lead to greater awareness, support, and healing among humans. Ai Weiwei (Beijing 1957), son of the poet Ai Qing.

His artistic installations have been exhibited in the main museums of contemporary art in the world. 2012 is the documentary film by A. Klayman Ai Weiwei: never sorry and the text Weiweisms , a collection of aphorisms on art and politics. In 2017 the artist has directed the feature film on the migration crisis Human flow , presented to 74 at Venice International Film Festival.
