This is number 467 out of a limited edition of 2,000 and signed by the author. It is a 12 1/4" X 9 3/8" X 5/8 book of 136 pages.
This is cloth bound hardcover with "Drawings and Paintings of the Old West" in black and white. This book has a red line (maybe crayon) on the cover and the spine is bumped at the top and bottom. Previous owners have written their names on the cover page. It is clean and very enjoyable.
"Borein's West" by Edward Borein. This is the 1952 book published by Press of the Schauer Studio, Inc..It is "Leaves from the Sketchbook of the last artist of the Longhorn Era". There is a touching forward "Ed Borein was a "character --one of those whose personal traits and abilities are sufficiently different from their fellows to set them apart as something unique. This book is a hard cover cloth bound edition measuring 11 1/4" X 8 1/2" X 7/8 with black and white sketches from Borein's notebook. The cover has some spots and bumps the binding is tight and the pages are clean. "A Tribute To Edward Borein" is a soft cover catalogue "Memorial Exhibition And Sale May20- June 10, 1995" at the Arlington Gallery, Santa Barbara.
It measures 9" X 9" X just under 1/8 and is 32 pages of paintings by Edward Borein both in color and black and white on thick glossy paper. This is in excellent condition with no flaws I can find.
"Coloring The West" watercolors and oils by Edward Borein was published in 2007 by the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. It was published in conjunction with an exhibition of the same name held Oct. This 10" X 9" X 1/4 booklet has 64 pages of color prints.
It is very thick, crisp glossy paper, very clean; but, has a soft fold on the top right of the cover. "John Edward Borein The Santa Barbara Years" by Harold G. Davidson was published by the Santa Barbara Historical Society in 2005. This 10" X 6 3/4" X 3/16 soft cover book has 42 pages of art and text. The many pictures are both color and black and white.
This book is clean but the cover has some wear. This collection is a rare opportunity to own a complete history of a great artist.My elegant friend is moving to a much smaller home and parting with some of her treasures.
