Signed and numbered, this is a huge masterpiece work measuring approx 30cm by 24 cm! Nielsen was a legendary Golden Age illustrator, working alongside Rackham, Dulac and Pogany. He produced illustrations for just a handful of works including. East of the Sun, West of the Moon. Hans Andersen's Fair Tales.

Hansel and Gretel was largely an American work, and was only published in this UK edition as a signed limited edition. This makes it one of his rarest, and a remarkable find. This copy is number 35 out of 600, and is complete with all twelve mounted plates. These are absolutely spectacular, and surely some of Nielsen's fines.

A true masterpiece and one of the finest retellings of this Brothers Grimm tale. See photos for accurate description. Covers are reasonably bright, with some grubbiness and fading. Spine has repair as photographed, and more subtle split down some parts of the side.
