Stik Hardcover Book with Blue Poster First Edition 2015 both signed

Rare STIK Book with blue poster, both signed by Stik. The book has a Stik doodle as well as his signature. This is a First Edition of the book - Published in 2015 by Century/Penguin Random House. On August 13th 2015 Stik signed first editions of his new book - STIK - at Foyles bookstore on Charing Cross Road in London.

Stik's iconic street art can say a lot with just a few lines. From his early days, painting life-size stick figures across the East End at night, to his position today as a celebrated, internationally exhibited artist, Stik's disarmingly simple characters have a tendency to pop up in sites of expression against repression and disenfranchisement. A firm believer in the right to protest, and a campaigner for the rights of the dispossessed and homeless, Stik had no formal training in the visual arts.

During periods of living on the street, the artistwho now counts celebrities like Brian May and Elton John amongst his legion of fansposed as a life model at the RA and Central Saint Martin's. It was here that his journey to becoming an artist beganand now his giant, instantly-recognizable murals appear the world over, from the side of a tower block in South Acton to the Jabal Al Qalaa in Jordan. Ironically the site of the Foyles book store at 107 Charing Cross Road where Stik signed copies of his book in August 2015 is the same site as Central Saint Martin's where Stik once posed as a life model.

Please note: the poster is folded and housed in a special fold at the back of the book - it has only been taken out for photos. Can be collected from SE22. The item "Stik Hardcover Book with Blue Poster First Edition 2015 both signed" is in sale since Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
