This limited edition (#76 of 200) of Ai Weiwei's book Humanity was created by the publishing house Damocle Editions of Venice in 200 numbered and hand-bound specimens with the same thermal blankets that are given to migrants rescued at sea. Each book was signed by Ai Weiwei.
Illustrates Ai Weiwei's thoughts on a journey through twenty-three countries, comparing and documenting the realities of the current global refugee crisis. These quotes, chosen from the most varied sources, including interviews, magazine articles and podcasts, reflect the diversity that animates Ai Weiwei's voice and the hope that art, combined with political dialogue, will lead to greater awareness, support, and healing among humans.
